diffuse software package provides graphical tool for merging and comparing text files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install diffuse
diffuse is installed in your system.
Make ensure the diffuse package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep diffuse *
You will get with diffuse package name, version, architecture and description in a table
